Personal Reaction by Shannon Houle to Feb 7 2014 Harper Speech on First Nations Education
"My heart and my mind said I needed to speak up for our future generations"
This is only my personal reflection from my perspective of my experience while attending the event as Chief proxy for Saddle Lake Cree Nation.
I felt it important to record this as a personal journal or record.

The Wolves assist in Creating Balance & Give Life to Others
For years I was lost for guidance and my true path; however, on my search of self discovery I was given my Indian Name. My name guides me, strengthens me, and gives me direction...
Help in the campaign to protect the wolf...it’s key to balance

I’m so grateful and honoured the ancestors can find me know when I am in a place of meditation.
Wolves are key to the balance of the ecosystem and give life to others. Who would have thought, that most people think of the wolf as a killer, predator but it’s so much more...
It has a major purpose to the balance of nature...
It’s loyal, mates for life, shares in the upbringing of young in a pack, hunt in packs, strategic, and more...

"Spirit of the wolf,
You who wanders the wild lands,
You who stalks in silent shadows,
You who runs and leaps,
Between moss-covered trees,
Lend me your primal strength,
And the wisdom of your glowing eyes,
Teach me to relentlessly track my desires,
And to stand in defense of those love,
Show me the hidden paths and moonlit fields,
Fierce spirit, Walk with me in my solitude,
Howl with me in my joy and guard me,
As I move through this world.”

NorthEast Two-Spirit Society | Why I Hate Redskins, But Love American Indians - Stanford Indian Mascot
Why I Hate Redskins, But Love American Indians - Stanford Indian Mascot
December 23rd, 2013 in Two-Spirits USA |
Below is a video from Myrton Running Wolf, a Ph.D. Candidate at Stanford University, on a local response to national issue of the Native mascots - "Resurrecting the [Stanford] Indian Mascot" project.
Stanford's Indian mascot was banned in 1972 for its offensive mockery of American Indian cultures. However, every year, many pre-Cardinal alumni start up again. Some arrogantly continue to parade their Stanford Indian sweaters, headbands, and Halloween-like makeup to campus events.

“Life, like a mirror, never gives back more than we put into it” ~ Anonymous
Trying, is lying
....Could, didn’t get it done
........Should, never comes
............Almost, is it didn’t happen
................yesterday, today, tomorrow...which one do I choose?
Change our intentions to show we lived life...
Did, mean “done"
....Experienced, means you felt it
........Will, means you got a goal with action
............Boy oh boy, do I have a story to tell you...Happened!
Forget
Everything
And
Run
Remember
Inner
Spirit
Knows
Just something, simple, to think about???
